Momentum
02:13
|
|||
I left my home for a random place to sit and stare.
Space and time were confined to a pity party and you and all your friends were there.
How many songs have been writing in the vain of "I just don't care"?
I don't care!
It goes round and round. Round and round again.
It goes round and round. Round and round and then
It goes round and round. Round and round and then
We go down. Momentum shits out.
Tension and release from the mention of your past.
At least you feel peace, but you know in your heart that it won't last
As you remember, the "Moment" was conceived by Man.
They don't begin. So they can't pass.
So hold that baby in your arms, feel him squeeze your finger tight.
Show him love, show him fear and softly sing the songs of black and white, day and night, right from wrong.
Midnight Miles and Irish Goodbyes.
It goes round and round. Round and round again.
It goes round and round. Round and round and then
It goes round and round. Round and round and then
We go down. Momentum shits out.

The Planets
03:14
|
|||
Walking around your favorite spots downtown what's your thinking?
With every step you tend to reassess the life you're living.
You look through a window. Apropos of the wet snow.
When you see him walking towards you again
Don't step down my friend.
Standing around the last stop uptown what's you thinking?
You sit on a bench and lower your head, how befitting.
Leaving the show tonight you idolize a cliche archetype.
But you will never tell them who you are. Show them what your not.
Pigtails, tattoos and Dorthy's shoes. She hears the Planets pass her by
While the battle rages through his mind.
When all the anger fills your head, spreads through your chest and burns your eyes. Laugh at your self again.
Driving around, ears turn at the sounds of the city.
With bullshit jobs we're turning into the ones we once pitied.
But on some winter night. Apropos of headphones, snow and lights.
Humming a friendly melody you get the fix you need.

Your Love
02:47
|
|||
Your love is like a simile.
After awhile it all sounds the same. You see
It's not poetry without honesty.
And you're just lying to three jaded folks at J.B.'s
Go buy a new toy YOU AIN'T A LIFER LIKE ME!
If you can't understand it try not to condemn it.
All this high and mighty bullshit is getting old.
I grew out of growing out of things a long time ago.
You're paying for a name on the record
You're paying for a name on the record.
Anyone could have thought of that.
Rock n Roll jihadists pass out in the streets.
musician yuppies cry over the free food they eat.
And me? I'm on the boulevard.
I know it's gonna be ok. IT'S A PARTY IN THE U.S.A!
And i got big pair of tits and I'll play the hits if you'll pay.
If you can't understand it try not to condemn it.
All this high and mighty bullshit is getting old.
I grew out of growing out of things a long time ago.
You're paying for a name on the record
You're paying for a name on the record.
Anyone could have thought of that.

Villanelle
02:52
|

How sweet and sad it all seems hustling down 10th street, taking in the scenery. Gringo at Locust Bar ain't got too much to say. I caught the last 313 to Cape May.
And I remember big brown eyes and golden hair with a pretty smile
A laugh no man could bare but I didn't care.
I was a coward and preferred to run away to play Rock n Roll shows and drink away the days.
But I know someday maybe soon.
I'll sail from this island to be with you.
And on little Stephen's first book report he wrote his name, class and his school. He wrote the county and his country, then the world. Hesitating wrote the universe!
And on the day he's turn 18 he would said to a land that he had only seen in a dream. He'd lay in bed at night dream of maroon moons so bright. And soon he'd see those city lights.
Are you not weary of ardent ways?
Tell no more of enchanted days.
Are you not weary of ardent ways?
Tell no more of enchanted days.
And I know someday maybe soon.
I'll sail from this island to be with you.

Dog
03:59
|
|||
I love your dog. I bought her a bagel.
I made coffee and tried to do the dishes
I plead my case of transparency. Take a step back and think of the absurdity of why we don't just say exactly what we feel all the time
Less facebooky, booky more doey, doey
My friends, they cut each other off.
They might be different but all are beautiful.
She likes sports, he drinks too much
But we all love your dog.
You ask me questions and it turns me up.
I gotta keep trying, but I'm sorry you're uncomfortable.
I sleep on the couch as long as it takes
And i'll feel you shiver and shake.
You can't remember his name. Too busy reading the poetry in his face
And I know you have good taste.
I like your dog and it's no fad. I wanna marry her and be your stepdad.
She'll pull the sled through the trash in the streets every couple of nights
And mornings throughout the week.
My friends, they cut each other off.
They might be different but all are beautiful.
She likes sports, he drinks too much
But we all love your dog.

Make It Up
03:22
|
|||
You walk around with your head down, eyes fixed on the ground
Hoping no one takes a second look.
Everyone that you see looks more and more like another friend you don't talk to anymore.
You sing along
Holding back tears cause you know someone who knows someone in the band.
Make it up over and over.
The same old stuff that folks will tell you if you're older
Don't walk away from another friend you made
Just because they'll move away.
We ain't getting any younger.
There is a place that I'll love, but I won't ever go..
And a girl I'm never going to meet.
Inspiration I'll never know.
Convictions I won't truly believe.
Now my brother's gone
Too much time together, we don't get along no more.
But if we did or if we tried
We'd be out on the road and rule the fucking world next year!
Make it up over and over.
The same old stuff that folks will tell you if you're older
Don't walk away from another friend you made
Just because they'll move away.
We ain't getting any younger.
Keep on or keep leaving
Wake up or keep dreaming.
Goodbye my friend, I'll pick up the phone in the next life.
